DESCRIPTION:
Years ago I wrote this song called Roses4U. I was able to sing it for my Uncle Alan before he passed away, and the line "You fill my days with laughter" is definitely written with him in mind. I miss him making me laugh, and I am releasing this song on the date of April 28th as a memory to him, my grandfather, Eugene Kipnis, and my great grandmother Nettie Schwartz, who were all born on the date of April 28th. I love and miss them all and remember them today and every day. Charles Brandick and I recorded the track for the song Roses4U gradually over the years with the addition of the brilliant percussion player Rich Mangicaro, a great violinist name Erik Smythe, and with background vocals from the very talented singer songwriter, Kori Withers. My good friend Greg Hoffman and I shot this footage together in Berkeley, CA years ago. I edited it into a music video last year. I was able to get the track mastered by the amazing Eric Boulangier recently. My only regrets about the song and video are that we didn't get any footage of La Burrita or Fat Slice:) Special thanks to Jenni Alpert, Michael L. Wolfson, and Marco Dydo, my professors of sonic-musical-adventures in Westwood101, Fun With Music in Southeast Portland 202, and Follow Your Bliss Grad School Extended Courses the Antelope Valley 303, respectively, and especially thank you to Charles Brandick who worked so much on this track as my trusty engineer and co-producer. The song is meant to be a love song for all of the different loves of my life, from friends, to family, and romantic lovers. It aims to be a universal kind of love song. Hope you enjoy the song and the video. And if you like it, please share it with someone who you think will like it too.
