DESCRIPTION:
Our names are Caleb Engelbourg and Alex Mercer and we are sophomore Sport Management majors at the University of Massachusetts -- Amherst. Last year, we came up with an idea for a football camp as a way to intertwine our love for sports with our passion for helping others. In 2012, the James Ihedigbo Invitational was founded in an effort to raise funds and build awareness for HOPE Africa while providing an environment for high school student athletes to learn from a local NFL product. In our first year, by utilizing our small network of friends and family, we were able to raise $861 to donate to HOPE Africa. This year, we look to improve on last year's attendance of 30 players to over 200. We also hope to donate $4,000 to HOPE Africa to show our appreciation for James' involvement in our event and to help sponsor some of the scholarships offered by HOPE Africa.
