- Rob Rush from Routine Fly Records wanted a late 70s/early 80s home video look to add to upcoming music videos from Rec League. We started this as a big nod to the old TV show Taxi, starring Judd Hirsch and Christopher Lloyd. There was something hypnotic about the old Taxi TV show opener. A Checker Cab slowly making it's way across the Brooklyn bridge in what appeared to be the early morning. - Rob and I collaborated and wanted to capture a similar feeling but with San Francisco as the basis. The Golden Gate Bridge is iconic and we really wanted the focus to be about that majestic rust colored span.
Other influences came from early HBO splash intros and stingers.
The final video was treated to emulate old 16mm film that has been converted to video for broadcast. We were tempted to do this in 4:3 standard definition but we just couldn't bring ourselves to throw away that many pixels. :D
