Born Marlon Brown, in Knoxwood St. Elizabeth Jamaica, Brando spent most of his formative years on his home turf, entering singing contests from primary school, (a winner from the onset), he went on to graduate from Lacovia Secondary school.
At the young age of eight Brando discovered the infectious Deejay Styles of Early B and Papa San and soon began to emulate their styles. In the years to follow, he found his own way of writing lyrics, then developing his own style.
In 1990, the legendary J.B.C. Boom Box came to Santa Cruz with the usual schedule of entertainment activities including a deejay contest. By this time Brando had perfected his craft and was sure he would take on all corners. His entry "Bomber" blew the audience to oblivion as he stole the first prize and the respect of the huge crowd.
This performance energized Brando, and he was soon off to Kingston to claim his place in the world of dance hall music. He began to frequently visit recording studios such as Penthouse, Cell Block and Mixing Lab, where he met several producers who showed some interest in "voicing" him. In 1996 his friend "King Droopy" introduced Brando to Barrington James of the Builders music label.
This resulted in the release of his first single "Rasta Man Know the Truth" on the "Builders Label." The song was an instant hit on U.S. East Coast such as New York, Miami, Connecticut, and New Jersey and received heavy play on all of the reggae radio stations.
Brando now calls CVConnection JA his musical home, has already released a smash I Cry on the Reggae Paradise Riddim. He is in studio hard at work releasing the never ending lyrics that seem to flow so effortlessly from his heavens.

Brando's fore most ambition is to spread his spiritual message throughout the world. And with this journey he has already begun there is no doubt that there is a voice calling waiting for all who have ears to listen.
