DESCRIPTION:
Rare demos for "Raggedy Ann," a dark fantasy by William Gibson with songs by Joe Raposo (including a few revised songs from the 1977 animated film "Raggedy Ann & Andy"). Little information was available until the 2020s, when it was finally determined that this is not the Broadway cast, but the second cast from ESIPA (largely the same as the first). Presumably, these were recorded in 1985, prior to the staging in Moscow.

After being abandoned by her mother, a dying girl named Marcella is given a Raggedy Ann doll (Ivy Austin) by her father. As soon as Marcella falls asleep, Raggedy Ann springs to life, summons her friends, and they journey to Los Angeles to meet the doll doctor, hoping that he can heal the ailing girl before her soul becomes the property of the nefarious General D.
