DESCRIPTION:
After 16 years of musical training, first classical then jazz, Quentin Dujardin decided at only 22 years (but with an album already under his belt), to seek inspiration outside the walls of institutions. He then left the education world that he knows so well for the street and its destabilizing freedom. His travels in Andalusia, North Africa or Madagascar were a turning point in the life of musician for whom discomfort will become the essence of his creative process. It is by making the choice to never rest on his laurels and always experienced that the guitarist reached succes (6 solo albums). For A Song a Day, Quentin Dujardin is playing a song called " Ya Bai Miriam", made with the collaboration of the Palestinian band El Funoun and which is from his new album " Distances".

Après 16 ans de formation musicale, d'abord classique ensuite jazz, Quentin Dujardin décidé, à seulement 22 ans (mais avec déjà un album à son actif), d'aller chercher l'inspiration en dehors des murs des institutions. Il quitte alors l'univers encadré de l'éducation, qu'il connaît pourtant si bien, pour aller se confronter à celui de la rue et de sa liberté déstabilisante. Ses voyages en Andalousie, au Maghreb ou encore au Madagascar marqueront un tournant dans la vie du musicien pour qui l'inconfort va alors devenir l'essence de son processus créatif. C'est en faisant le choix de ne jamais se reposer sur ses lauriers et de toujours d'expérimenté que le guitariste en est aujourd'hui là où il est ( 6 albums solo et divers autres enregistrements) . Pour A Song a Day Quentin Dujardin interprète le titre« Ya Bai Mariam », réalisé en collaboration avec le groupe Palestinien El Funoun et issu de son dernier album « Distances».

Na een muzikale opleiding van 16 jaar, eerst in klassiek dan in jazz, besluit Quentin Dujardin als 22 jarige (maar met al een album op zijn cv) zijn inspiratie elders te gaan zoeken. Belust op muzikale en culturele omzwervingen, omgordt Quentin Dujardinregelmatig zijn gitaar om de wijde wereld in te trekken. Tijdens een verblijf in de Marokkaanse woestijn komt hij in contact met de sensuele ritmes van de Arabische muziek. Bij de zigeuners uit Andalusië maakt hij kennis met het vuur en de passie van de flamenco. Hij leert ook de muziek van zigeuners uit Rajasthan, Guarani-Indianen of de Vezos in Madagascar uit de eerste hand kennen. Al deze invloeden koppelt hij moeiteloos met de subtiliteit en finesse van de jazz en een eigen universum ontstaat, getuige 6 solo-albums en talloze andere opnames. Voor A Song a Day speelt Quentin Dujardin "Ya Bai Mariam", dat ontstaan is uit een samenwerking met de Palestijnse groep a capella groep El Funoun en terug te vinden is op zijn laatste album "Distances".
