DESCRIPTION:
On January 26th we had our traditional Haggis Ceremony.
Every last Monday of January we pay tribute to the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns and the Scottish national dish 'haggis'.
The Address to a Haggis, poem from 1786 by Robert Burn, was spoken this year by former band piper and percussionist Cees Krottje. The piper was pipe sergeant Robert van Straten and ceremonial assistant was piper Paul Hanraads.
The fresh haggis was delivered by Scottish restaurant 'Het Wapen van Schotland' in Hooghalen. The served whiskies were Talisker, Laphroaig and Famous Grouse.
