1906 Harmony Type D Phonograph Playing "He Walked Right In Turned Around" Ragtime Bob Roberts - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 28, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Here is my 1906 Harmony Type D Phonograph with its nice original blue horn from my collection playing a great early comic song also from 1906, "He Walked Right In Turned Around And Walked Right Out Again" by "Ragtime" Bob Roberts. The Harmony Type D was a budget priced machine that featured a simple one spring motor and a plain oak case but sported a pretty blue horn to attract customers of 1906. The "catch", however, was that customers who purchased these machines were required to purchase the special ¾ inch hole Harmony Disc Records. And these records were not particularly plentiful (then or now!) when compared to the normal size spindle hole Victor and Columbia records which were sold at most every music shop in 1906. Also, just for fun, I included the same song played on one of the Mira 15 ½ inch Parlor Grand music boxes from my collection. As always, thanks for stopping in for a visit and I hope you enjoy the video!
