DESCRIPTION:
After almost 20 years in the music industry, singer/songwriter phoenixnormand decided to hang up the mic and call it quits. I was there to capture one of his last performances, the preparation leading up to the show, and his thoughts on everything from what's next to what it means to be an artist. I've noticed that when I document individuals and their stories, certain themes seem to reappear continuously. No matter how different they seem on the outside, everybody is searching for what makes them happy, looking for something to be passionate about, trying to be real in a world full of smoke and mirrors. As a filmmaker I'm always striving to artfully deal with these universal and compelling themes and this is the best example I have of me doing that up to now.
