Moonalice is a band of musicians who feel that live music should be a communal experience where the listener and musicians feed and derive inspiration from each other. Ben Fong-Torres
Ben Fong-Torres is best known as a writer and editor, with Rolling Stone, Parade, GQ, MOJO and many other magazines He is the author of eight books, including a collection of past articles, Becoming Almost Famous (he was portrayed in the Cameron Crowe film, Almost Famous) and books about Gram Parsons, the Doors, the Grateful Dead, the Eagles and Little Feat. His other interview subjects include the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Michael Jackson and hundreds of others.
He is also a broadcaster. Throughout the Seventies, while at Rolling Stone, he held a weekend shift on pioneer free-form station KSAN in San Francisco, and won a Billboard Award for writing and narrating a syndicated radio special on the Summer of Love. He interviewed Paul McCartney, Steve Martin, Grace Slick, B.B. King and others for the television show, Evening, and is the Emmy®-winning co-host of KTVU's telecasts of the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade.
Ben is the radio columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle and is senior editor of Qello, a music film streaming service.
