Pete Roe - Devil's Dancefloor (The Wilmington Arms - 10th April 2013) - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 27, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Pete Roe playing 'Devil's Dancefloor' at an event called Because The Night at the Wilmington Arms, London on 10th Apr 2013.

This BTN gig was actually a single launch for Pete, "Midnight Mystery", shortly before his "Our Beloved Bubble" album comes out in May. Songs in the single launch were 'Further into Midnight' and 'A Strange Kind of Mystery in the Air'.

Accompanying Pete as his band were the ever incredible Hot Feet along with a 2-piece string section.
It was a wonderful night but before Pete took to the stage to play he announced that he had a special guest here - his 'old boss'. Of course he meant Laura Marling. We were treated to 2 songs from her and then she handed us back into Pete's very capable hands where he delivered an amazing set including tracks from his Circles EP from last year and material that was soon to appear on his forthcoming album 'Our Beloved Bubble'.
Don't miss the rip-roaring finale that is 'Devil's Dancefloor'!

The music was wonderful, the cheese raffle most excellent (my dearest friend won the raffle!) - yet again a fabulous time was had by all.

Because The Night is an event created by Emily and the Woods, Pete Roe, Sam Brookes and Hot Feet. Held once a month at The Wilmington Arms, London, they meet up and have a good old time playing a few of their songs. In later meetings they've collaborated more with each other generally helping out as and when needed, and often to immense effect. Always a fabulous night of music.
