The first single from Sharon Musgrave's rhythmic soul album Outflow. "Beautiful Music" starts out on a simple, yet brilliant keyboard riff that continues throughout the song. It is followed by simplistic spoken word over Peter Grimmer's flawless drumming and Mathew Lima's rhythmic bass lines. The arrangement at the beginning reminds me of The Doors' "Ghost Song", a spoken word piece with similar instrumentation. Brian Griffith's jazz licks are placed gorgeously; every arpeggio gives the song atmosphere and beauty. Musgrave's soulful voice pulls it all together in the chorus, really giving the song direction and meaning. Reviewed by Jamie Dorman of Bryan Farrish Radio Promotion
