Cherry Blossom - Peter Buffett - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Yet another song about the state of things from my particular point of view…

I didn’t realize it until after I wrote it, but it’s inspired by William Blake’s poem, Auguries of Innocence.

"To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

A robin redbreast in a cage
Puts all heaven in a rage.

A dove-house fill'd with doves and pigeons
Shudders hell thro' all its regions.
A dog starv'd at his master's gate
Predicts the ruin of the state."

You get the idea. Stop time and look around. If things seem constricting, controlling, dominating, exploiting…heartless…it tells you that something is out of balance.

Something needs to change.

"A truth that's told with bad intent
Beats all the lies you can invent."

Lyrics:
What will it take for you to stand up?
To see the truth for where it lies.
First they make you blind
And then they get you right between the eyes
Paralyzed

You can’t tell me what you’re feeling
You’re numbed with poison for the pain
Cuz everywhere you turn
It’s killing all the life it can’t contain
The bought remain

There must be an answer in the places we forgot.
I’ll look inside this cherry blossom

All the beauty that surrounds us
The things our eyes will never see
Somewhere we got lost
And now this ship has sailed and out to sea
What will be…
