The Angelic Mixes record is four mixes of Your Love Takes Me Higher: this mix plus the Simply Divine mix, both on Side Two. And Deep Joy mix (amazing deep / balearic serious house music mix, shared elsewhere in YouTube currently), plus "New Beats For Old" on Side One.

Divinely Simple is an amazing version of this song, I thought. And an amazing dance music record and record of dance music. The atmosphere created by the piano is wonderfully magic. Beloved songs and remixes sound steeped in balearic dance music culture or heavily italian deep house influenced. This is a prime example of the heavy influence of the southern European sounds in British dance music.

The vocal parts come across so well. This recording reminds me of the great soulful nature, which the quite poppy, dramatic single and album version didn't catch well - the balance wasn't so well judged, though 'Happiness' plays so well in full and each is a dance classic, or a classic song, in it's own way. But here is the epitome of developing British spiritual and soulful house music at the time, it being clear by Beloved and the well known backing singers it is black and white soul music, in a great tradition and all of its own. Reminiscent of a small British scene coming after Chicago and New Jersey sounds, found in Shoom and Spectrum clubs in London, The Hacienda in Manchester, various soul clubs transforming into house clubs and warehouse parties. There was no need to decide to get "off things" and "into the music", it happened with ease, there was no resisting it.

This recording captures the spirit well for me, including the spirit of love and positivity.
