When you don't tire of this album by "Laura Allen and Paul Horn" even after hundreds of listenings, you can crown it a "classic." she plays zither and sings melodies of eternal inspiration and exquisite depth. A few refrains have lyrics, and they are pure poetry. "My heart is grateful--just to be, and nothing more. I am the joy, and the sorrow. The tear, the death, and blessed bird. As I am today, I am tomorrow: a child of God, flying out to love on this earth...." Though you'll probably remember only zither and angelic voice, other notables contribute to the magic: on swirls of flutes, on Lyricon wind synthesizer, on synthesizer, and on bells. Everything about this album seems to have been "Special Delivery" from Heaven; even the faint auto sounds in the background are totally forgiven, even embraced. Even if this album is available only on cassette tape, get it. It is available on tape only through Inner Peace Music. Here's is one of my favorite new age lp's. Laura is featured on celtic harp like customized zither, wordless vocals and lyrical song poems. One of those mellow records to sip tea to on a sunday morning and zone out to.

They unexpectedly joined the band, making for a lively reception. Then, Laura made a generous toast to the bride and groom. We were outdoors, on a sunny day and in total silence Laura held her triangle in front of her and sang "where is love..." She knew how to play to her audience. That beautiful, clear, sweet voice was the loveliest gift of all. I will cherish that moment always. "I think Laura's Reflections album is a masterpiece that deserves to be rediscovered and popularized like Linda Perhacs' Parallelograms or the music of Nick Drake. Does anyone know if the master tape still exists? For that matter, does anyone know how to obtain a good copy of the album. My copy is -- as others have mentioned -- distractingly noisy on side 1 due to low quality pressing, but I've heard that a limited number of audiophile quality pressings were also made " ~Bob Olson



" I agree with you about Laura's Reflections album...it is a masterpiece and most definitely should be remastered and put out on either CD or MP3′s for purchasing. The album is available as MP3 downloads from various sites but probably lacks good sound quality.
It seems the powers to be whoever they may be, either have no interest or other reasons for not releasing this album into the current music stream. Laura's first album 'Laura Allan' also suffers the same fate...it is only available from the import from 2002 re-released CD from Japan for $51 dollars. ~ Edmund Venella
