Cornell Big Red Band 5th Ave Parade 2010 November 13 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 14, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Cornell's Big Red Marching Band, the only marching band in the Ivy League, parades down 5th Avenue. It was a beautiful clear warm November night.

The annual Sy Katz '31 parade starts at St. Patrick's Cathedral on 51st and 5th Avenue, and ends at the Cornell Club on 44th and 5th. Governor David Patterson leads the parade.

The band are playing the Cornell fight song "Give My Regards to Davy" to the tune of "Give my Regards to Broadway"

lyrics courtesy of Wikipedia:
Give my regards to Davy,
Remember me to Tee Fee Crane.
Tell all the pikers on the Hill
That I'll be back again.
Tell them just how I busted
Lapping up the high highball.
We'll all have drinks at Theodore Zinck's
When I get back next fall!

GO BIG RED!

video details:
I was standing on a cement planter in front of the American Girl store. When the parade began, a big black bus blocked the intersection for a few seconds. That's what you're seeing at the start of the video. This was taken with a Canon FS200 camcorder, highest quality setting, no auxiliary lights, sun was completely gone, image stabilization on, and handheld. Pretty decent picture, I'd say!
