David Zoll & Paco Shipp @ Pisgah Brewing Co. 5-31-2017 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 05, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
Local musician and guitar player David Zoll teams up with harmonica player Paco Shipp for a special early evening set of rhythm and blues on the Pisgah Brewing Indoor Stage.
David Zoll grew up on Long Island, NY with a steady diet of doo-wop, Motown and classic R and B from local oldies radio, Willie Nelson, Simon and Garfunkel, and the Everly Brothers from his parents, and Brian Setzer, the Ramones and Black Sabbath from his brother.

Later on with stints in upstate NY and Florida, and a first serious study of the guitar, he was influenced by everything from the finger-style guitar of Chet Atkins, the classic dub of LeePerry, and the complete buffoonery of Frank Zappa.

David moved to the Asheville NC area in the summer of 2006, and with the support of his family, friends, and beautiful wife, released his first self-titled EP in the spring of 2011. He is lucky enough to share the stage with some amazing friends and musicians, and can be seen playing throughout the WNC area in solo acoustic settings, and along with his group, The David Zoll Trio. You may also find him in another role he loves: as a sideman with numerous other projects including zydeco group Bayou Diesel, reggae outfit Chalwa, and his harmony-laden acoustic duo The Everydays with friend and fellow musician Tim Marsh.

The David Zoll Trio combines Zoll’s original material with the jazz sensibilities of musicians and friends Ben Bjorlie (Asheville horns, Bayou Diesel, Tuesday night funk jam) on drums and vocals and bassist Daniel Iannucci (upright bass with EVERYONE, Brushfire Stankgrass).
