Onirama

The group ONIRAMA was formed in October 2000 after the brainchild of Theodore and Dionisis, who had met during their military service. The other founding members were the brothers George and Dimitris while a few months later Kostas joined them.



They began their live stage appearances at the Mesogios (MEDITERRANEAN). Initially the name of the band was ‘MIXIN UP THE MEDICINE’ inspired by one of Bob Dylan’s lyrics, which was a reflection of the relatively wide range of music played by the band.



The excess drive and enthusiasm, which even to this day the members of the band are well known for, have rapidly and generously earned them the love and appreciation of the general public of Thessaloniki. This has led them to take the ‘game’ they started more seriously.



In 2003 Christos joins the band and they begin a series of appearances at MYLOS, SHARK, RODON CLUB in Athens and several festivals.



In the middle of 2003, the name of the Band changes and becomes ONIRAMA. It is a compound word made up from the phrase “ONIRA MAS” (OUR DREAMS) and in that context, the dream of the band is starting to become a reality.



ONIRAMA’S appearances at Malt & Jazz which began in October 2004 cause a sensation and become the talk of the town, while at the same time the band is working on its own compositions and searching for a record label.



Their song “O HOROS (klise ta matia)” (THE DANCE, close your eyes) is already gaining popularity, leaving the best impression on anyone who hears it. Finally, their appearances at beach bars in Chalkidiki leave behind the sweetest and most passionate memories predicting a torrid winter to come.



In December 2005, ONIRAMA’S first record is released by Lyra with the title “A Tough Time for Prince’s” which comprises 10 songs with their distinct personal pop-rock sound.



In January 2006, ONIRAMA take a chance on something new by participating in the interactive musical performance directed by Rigos Kostantinos and in that way unfold another aspect of their character as a band, while at the same time their first video clip of their song “The Dance”, prepared by Christos Nikoleris, is released, and makes a big impression.



At the 5th Arion Awards in March 2006 ONIRAMA are nominated for best pop band, while they are trusted with joint appearances by the band Ble (Blue), and the singers Andrianna Babali, Vasilis Papakonstadinou and Michalis Hatzigiannis.
