FILM's cinematic soundscapes revolve around nihilistic urban settings and inspire celluloid fantasies. The work of this Athenian avant-garde four- piece, resembles the mystique of a lost, enigmatic motion picture. Their flickering sequences, distorted outbreaks and the angelic, yet quirky and energising vocal touches by Etten draw inspiration directly from the iconic legacy of FILM's universally-acclaimed compatriot Vangelis. Their latest collective effort 'Persona' along with their staggering live performances - was hailed in unison by various respected international music media:

"Clear heritage managed so smart and lovingly on stage that it could turn into a cliché, instead it becomes exciting" – Gaffa (SWE)
"Pleasingly atmospheric post-pop shudder" – Clash Magazine (UK)
"Visually strong expression" – Gaffa (DK) "
"Exploring the avant-garde of pop music on their latest album 'Persona' makes FILM an exhilarating addition to the scene of art-rock" – Gogoyoko (ICE)
FILM enjoy a leading status amongst the Athenian indie scene and have enviable live credits with support slots for behemoths such as The Cure, New Order, Placebo, Iggy & the Stooges, and The Flaming Lips. They have extensively toured Europe with gigs in the UK, Switzerland, Spain, Slovenia – RocOtocec festival and the Netherlands – Eurosonic Festival, and are among the very few non-Nordic acts that have performed at Denmark's SPOT Festival, the first greek act to perform at Popkomm – Berlin & Iceland Airwaves – Reykjavik, opening the festival with their performance at sold out NASA.
FILM recorded a single with Hildur Kristin, the soothing voice of Rökkurró, Iceland's finest folk-pop outfit. 'Harmur Fuglsins' (Icelandic for Sorrow of the Bird) is the outcome of a collaboration infused by strikingly contrasting geographical and artistic backgrounds, and was released October 2010 by Kimi Records & Inner Ear recs (teaser video : http://www.vimeo.com/14475782 ), including a remix of the track by reputable FM BELFAST. This collaboration and their live performance in Iceland Airwaves left a strong imprint both to audience and media :
"If you've for some reason been looking for your ideal Greek post-punk band, this is it. … Makes you think of a more bleak sounding Aphrodite's Child-eraVangelis …." - The Reykjavik Grapevine (ICE) http://www.grapevine.is/Home/ReadArticle/Faktory-Thursday
"Funny how an artist can convince you their music is good just by the way they move to it like a less melancholy Blonde Redhead, with a more jolting, danceable beat—sonic waves breaking against an eager crowd. – The Reykjavik Grapevine (ICE) "http://www.grapevine.is/Home/ReadArticle/NASA-Wednesday
"You might think you have them figured out after one or two songs but what follows is carefully thought out and nurtured music that will stick to you like gum on a shoe" – Gogoyoko (ICE) http://blog.gogoyoko.com/?p=1307&utm_source=gogoyoko++all+users&utm_campaign=f168f357a7New_Music_Friday_147_23_2010&utm_medium=email
"…There's a level of Mary Chain style danger that surrounds the whole thing and lends a sense of drama reminiscent of the best movie score you've never heard. Maybe there is something in a name." The Heads Up (UK) : http://theheadsupblog.blogspot.com/2010/09/subject-film.html
"…sexy and slinky but ready to take your arm off at any minute" - Lazy Acre records (UK) : http://lazyacrerecords.blogspot.com/2010/09/lazy-acre-records-club-week-7-film.html
