nel 1999 grazie alla fondamentale collaborazione delle compagne e dei compagni del centro popolare autogestito Obelix di pescara nasce il progetto omnibass sound system.
in origine collettivo e sound system erano essenzialmente intrecciati a doppio filo,feste e proteste viaggiavano insieme, le prime per sostenere le seconde e quest'ultime per dare un senso alle prime.
omnibass sound system project borns in 1999 thanks to the collaboration of the comrades from c.p.a. (popular center, youth center) "obelix" in pescara at first, the political collective and sound system were tightly linked, parties and protests went on side-by-side, each one efforting the other.
la scelta del nome omnibass e' il risultato di una sintesi tra le varie anime degli originali componenti.reggae, punk, ska, hip hop, tekno, goa, d'n'b, musica popolare proteste di piazza e quant'altro erano un tutt'uno. nel 2001 il centro chiude insieme al collettivo, e omnibass sound system dopo una prima tappa in salento si trasferisce a roma dove ri-nasce grazie all'apporto fondamentale di dubmatt!!!
Due to the different experiences and influences of its "parents" the choice of "omnibass" as our crew's name reggae, ska, punk, hip hop, tekno, goa, d'n'b, popular music, protests and so on, all in one. in 2001, the centre closed up and the collective was splitted, so omnibass sound system, after a first stop in salento, moved up to rome, where it rises again thanks to dubmathz' fundamental support. From the beginning collaborations are the main way we use to manage our events and activities.
