Ys II Special is a full-blown MS-DOS remake developed by Mantra, released exclusively for the South Korean market in 1994. Mantra were best known for their localisations and ports of Gainax's Princess Maker series, Zoom's Genocide 2, and many Falcom series such as Brandish, The Legend of Heroes and both Revival Xanadu games. Due to poor sales and piracy, Mantra went bankrupt shortly after the release of Ys Eternal in 1999.
