Oblivion Seekers w/Tres Shannon singing "The Last Time" on KBOO - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Broadcast live from Portland's KBOO Radio in 1997. Tres Shannon interviews Oblivion Seekers bandleader Mark Sten and then sits in with the band to sing "The Last Time" by the Stones.

Tres back then sang in the Miss You's, his Stones cover band in his pre-Voodoo Doughnut days. Mark on guitar, Tina Purdy and Angela Crepeau singing backup vocals, Jeff Larson on bass, Rob Parker drums, me on lead guitar. Recorded off the board one evening at KBOO along with the whole standard Oblivon Seekers set list at the time. It's too bad Tres didn't have a tambourine. I don't think this was planned though, Tres was just there and wound up doing that funny interview and then sitting in for a song. I think Sten played piano for a while with the Miss You's.

I too actually played for a short while in the Miss You's so I knew all their songs. I remember rehearsing somewhere with Sten and Trace and former Jackals guitar player Louie Samora playing drums. And I remember playing with them at Union Jack's strip club in Portland, certainly one of the weirder gigs I've played. We would play for a while, then the strippers would perform to their own recorded music. As I recall Sten wasn't there, instead there was this good looking but completely stoned glam-type guitar player who used to play with some semi-famous L.A. band, but could barely stand up. I don't remember it being a problem though. It was Fellini-esque. Good old Tres has always had a knack for precipitating entertainingly wild spectacles.
