THE TRANCE - MAGIC SPHERE - AUSTRIAN FREAKBEAT - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 16, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Taken from the album " The Trance play organ pop sounds", 1997 released on road records.

The Trance appears to be one of the best kept secrets in the musical landscape of Vienna, Austria. Their sixties-pop-oriented sound combined groovy Hammond tunes with sharp and twangy guitar riffs. Soon after the band "the road" had split, 3 original members just had to go on playing fine music and so they founded a new band called "The Trance" around fall 1995. In the following 3 years they played some live gigs around Vienna, like in the Chelsea or Flex. ..After being asked by lots of people for a 7" or a longplayer, the four boys finally brought out a CD in 1997, which made their musical qualities evident.
Norb Payr played leadguitar and sang together with Ted Snydal who rocked the bass. Znarf Huber gave the group its typical Hammond sound, while Mike K. beat the drums. On this site you can listen to 3 songs of their cd. The Trance played some kind of psyche and brit style mixed up with 60s freakbeat elements, which was not too unusual for indie bands at that time.
Sadly The Trance broke up in 1998 shortly before realizing a 7" production.
