DESCRIPTION: From the 1950s to the 1980s Steve Race presented countless music programmes on radio and television. He is probably best known as the chairman of the long-running light-hearted radio and TV panel game My Music from 1967 to 1994. He presented and wrote most of the questions for all 520 episodes broadcast. As a composer he wrote well over a hundred titles. Nicola is perhaps his best known work, which was named after his daughter. In 1963 he even entered the hit parade with one of his compositions; Pie Piper (The Beejes) reaching number 29, no mean feat in the so called swinging sixties. Youtube has umpteen of his various works ready to view as well as a selection of his radio and television sessions as a presenter, and are well worth seeking out.
