Self taught bassist from mexico city, born february 27 of
1956. Has been playing professionally for 30 years.
Along brothers Eugenio and Fernando, he's part of Mexicos
premier jazz quartet Sacbe, with which he has toured
extensively and recorded 8 albums to date.
During his career, Enrique has traveled all over the world
(united states, canada, haiti, china, korea, japan, malaysia, indonesia,
taiwan, singapore, phllipines, australia, france, germany,
spain, italy, great britain, portugal, belgium, holland,
norway, switzerland, sweden, finland, monaco, greece,
lebanon, turkey, russia, serbia, austria, brasil, colombia, argentina, mexico,
uruguay and chile).
He's participated in playing situations with: David Foster,
Michel Colombier, Ivan Lins, Ze Carlos, Paul McCandless, Jon Crosse,
Luis Conte, Herb Alpert, Paul Anka, Clare Fischer, Jean Pierre Zanella, Marcelo Martins, Leo Amuedo, Cecilia
Toussaint, Graham Lear, the Brubeck Brothers, Milcho
Leviev, James Ingram, Patti Austin, Placido Domingo, etc.
As a member of Paul Anka's entourage, he's performed with
the Cincinnati pops, the Atlanta, Boston, National, Houston,
and Baltimore symphonies.
He's performed at the White House and Ford Theater as well
as many well renowned venues like Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, Olympia (PARIS), Palais de Congress, Montecarlo Sporting Club, Nortrh Sea Jazz Festival, Pori Jazz festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, Java Jazz Festival,etc.
Television appearances include: Larry King, The View, David
Letterman, La Tocada, PBS' A Night to Remember, Rosie
O'Donell, Jerry Lewis telethon, Canadian Idol, AM Canada,
Fox and Friends, The Today Show and Good Morning America.
Some jingles include: pace picante sauce, sherwin williams,
etrade (for the super bowl), treasure island, bancomer etc.
He wrote music for two PBS specials and for the children's
film la sirena y el pescador and played on the soundtrack
of the personals and lawrence melm.
Hes been featured on the pages of Musico Pro, Soundcheck and Music Life magazines.
Enrique lives in Minneapolis/St.Paul where he performs and
has recorded with local artists: Marc Anderson, Gao Hong,
Billy McLaughlin, Sowah Mensa, Stokley Williams, Michael
Baker, Dan Schwartz, Dirk Freymuth, Peter Schimke, Peter Mayer, Peter Oshtrusko, Kirk
Johnson, Kathleen Johnson, Stuart Davis,
Justin Roth, Preston Reed, John Gorka, etc.
His discography includes 90+ albums to date and has released his first solo effort, COMUNIDAD, which is available in Mpls/St.Paul at Cheapo Records, Barnes and Noble HarMar and Electric Fetus also at CDbaby.com and iTunes.
When home, Enrique shares his life with his children Alea,
Erick and his wife Tia.
