Concord Jazz and Herb Alpert are pleased to announce the release of Anything Goes, Herb Alpert and Lani Hall’s live collection of beautifully reinterpreted standards. This is the first time that the celebrated duo, who recently signed to the Concord Jazz label, has recorded a complete album together and is Alpert’s first new CD in 10 years since the debut of Colors in 1999. A love letter to each other and a tribute to their enduring personal and professional relationship, Anything Goes is out now!

Music icon, legendary trumpet player and bandleader, philanthropist and visual artist

Herb Alpert has sold more than 72 million albums worldwide as a musician and bandleader of the groundbreaking group, the Tijuana Brass. He has won seven Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year for “A Taste of Honey,” and had three of his recordings—the early TJB hit “Whipped Cream,” 1966’s “What Now My Love,” and his 1979 solo hit “Rise”—honored with inclusion in the Grammy Awards Archive Collection.

Herb Alpert’s accomplishments extend beyond the art and business of music. He has made a name for himself as an abstract expressionist painter whose work has been shown in museums and galleries around the world, and his sculptures are becoming equally acclaimed. On Broadway, Alpert has produced celebrated works including Jelly’s Last Jam, Arthur Miller’s Broken Glass, and Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning smash Angels In America. Finally, Alpert’s ongoing philanthropy has garnered a host of awards, and for almost two decades, The Herb Alpert Foundation has underwritten funding in the areas of the arts, the environment, and education. The Foundation recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the internationally renowned Alpert Award in the Arts, granted to emerging mid-career artists in five disciplines annually, many of whom have gone on to be Pulitzer Prize winners and MacArthur Fellows. And the Foundation is providing major support for the New Vision Foundation’s pioneering Herb Alpert Educational Village, breaking ground in Santa Monica in 2005.

In 2007, Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss were honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys.

Shout! Factory is proud to present the Herb Alpert Signature Series, an ongoing campaign featuring deluxe reissues of his classic albums.
