In early January of "08, I had the good fortune to be part of a builders
delegation that went to New Orleans to assist with reconstruction of
homes. One of the houses we worked on belonged to Mr. Alexander, an 83
year-old resident of the Gentilly section of the city. While his house is being rehabbed, Mr. Alexander lives in a FEMA trailer which is located in
his front yard. Also in his front yard are two '65 Ford Mustangs. Mr. Alexander bought one of these brand new for $2600. It was completely flooded by Katrina. The other '65 Mustang is a restored model that he purchased after the flood. This one he drives on a regular basis. I wrote this song to honor Mr. Alexander and his wonderful spirit.
