The ring modulator is a dish best served sparingly. Tony Iommi is believed to have used one on (one of the stereo sides of) the "Paranoid" solo (Ampeg Scrambler?). Dr Who fans will be used to hearing the sweet tones of a ring modulated voice via the ever charming Daleks. The nutty guitar over the South Park theme has also benefited from a ring modulator's gentle intervention.

The Mycelium is Kevin Wilson's take on another mad ring mod, this time the version attached to the Snarling Dogs Mold Spore Wah. Kevin has basically detached the ring mod bit and given us full control over the freakiness: Clean volume, Ring Mod volume, Touch sensitivity control, Freek (frequency) control, and Hi/Low bandwidth control via a 2-way toggle. Add the welcome external expression control facility and you have a whole bag of magic mushrooms.

Every home should have a ring mod at their disposal, even if it's only brought out for those special occasions. Maybe the Mycelium will be your choice.

Oh, you made it here from the (part)Demo? Welcome!
