Moveknowledgement

Moveknowledgement is a five man band from Slovenia that plays a unique fusion of hiphop, dub, rock, funk and electro. While focusing very hard on playing powerful live concerts they also like to experiment with sound and enjoy coming up with strange visual concepts.
The band received the Slovenian Bumerang Award for the Best Live Act in 2002. Lead vocalist N'Toko became the National Freestyle Champion of Slovenia in 2002 and 2003 and in the meantime they have toured all over Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia. Since 2006 they have played regularly in France, Germany, Hungary, and all over east Europe, promoting their album 'Listen to Nebukadnezar' while trying out new material as well.
This year Moveknowledgement released their 4th studio album "Pumpdown". After their well received experimental hip hop/dub record "Listen to Nebukadnezar" and a series of successful improvised electronic concerts under the banner of their Moveknowledgement FreePop Orchestra side project, the band is taking the next step in their eclectic career. If the title "Pumpdown" sounds like something that might have come out in the late 80s when hip hop met rave, the music on the album is far from retro. The heavy dub effects and complex arrangements now move aside to huge guitar riffs and primitive drumming, and in many ways some of the band's best songwriting. There is a large dose of rock n' roll added to the signature sci-fi, retro-future, new age aesthetic that is still present in their lyrics and album art. Moveknowledgement have said that "Pumpdown" is made to be played live. Seeing how the songs work well on stage and are fun to play, they're looking forward to touring the festivals and clubs this year. "Sex, drugs and UFOs!"
