Disclaimer: I do basic audio editing on my videos to account for the microphones, preamp and room. This editing, mostly light EQ and compression, is intended to give you the most accurate representation of how the featured gear actually sounds. NO editing is done to misrepresent how the featured gear sounds in any way.

Shootout between the Ibanez TS 808 Tubescreamer, and the new MJM Guitar FX Luxora Overdrive. The MJM Luxora is the next level of the now retired Phantom overdrive. The circuit has been tweaked for better note articulation, less compression and an improved tone control. It has a Rich, smooth tone with no harshness (even at the higher settings) and that killer tube-like gain that you’d expect from a TS style pedal. For this comparison we’ll play both pedals into a Fender Bassman, first with a Stratocaster loaded with Lust for Tone 64 Lustcaster pickups and a Tone Man Guitar Eric Johnson wiring harness, and then with a Les Paul loaded with Lust for Tone 59 Lustbuckers and a Tone Man 50s style harness.
