Brian Lopez - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 18, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Singer-songwriter Brian Lopez was born and raised in Barrio Savaco on Tucson’s west side. He turned on to music at a young age, finding a box of vinyl at his Nana’s house that included Black Sabbath and the Beatles. He started reading guitar magazines and then his Mom bought his first guitar. Brian’s maiden band was Mostly Bears, a successful breakout group once described as Radiohead in a gang fight with Arcade Fire. Now he tours Europe with Giant Sand and XIXA, and plays solo-shows in places like Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Berlin. In the words of friend and bandmate Gabriel Sullivan, “his songs are coming from a very deep place, he can write the saddest songs like Pray for Rain and Static Noise ... deep, heartfelt, soul wrenching songs. But on the other side, he can write a song like Killer for XIXA, that is just a summer, good-time party jam.”
