https://www.mistyrae.com/ - A young dreamer, Misty Rae Carson, not only has the bold determination to reach for the stars, but her exuberance and music encourages others to reach for theirs as well. From the historic Fort Worth Stockyards to the small-town Texas opry houses, Southern Songstress Misty Rae Carson was immersed in the Texas music scene from a young age. Her undying passion for music grew into a budding music career as Carson began homeschooling in order to travel to Music City, TN on a regular basis to collaborate with songwriters, work with vocal coach Renee Grant-Williams and grow her industry connections.

After high school, Carson brought her Texas tenacity to Tennessee permanently, seeking a Music Business degree at Belmont University. She soon began performing several writers’ rounds at iconic venues such as The Bluebird Café, The Commodore Lounge, The Listening Room and Ford Theatre in the Country Music Hall of Fame where she met several top writers. Growing her catalog of lyrically strong songs, she began co-writing with seasoned songwriters like Rick Giles, Georgia Middleman, Robert Ellis Orrall and Dean Sams. Upon completing her undergraduate education in Business and Entrepreneurship at Belmont University, Carson was able to once again fully turn her attention back to her music.

Following many late hours spent in the studio, Carson is finally ready to release her debut EP “Mystery” on June 17. The inspiring and uplifting compilation features songs like the title-track “Mystery,” which captures a chill Colbie Caillat and embraces the uncertainty of falling in love, “More Wishes Than Stars,” which was co-written with Craig Spinney and “So Can I,” a tribute to faithful fans both near and far to inspire them to never give up on their dreams co-written with Georgia Middleman.

In April, Carson released her debut single off the EP, “Woke Up One Day,” which in the first week landed # 3 on Play MPE Chart’s Top 5 most downloaded and streamed songs only behind Country music sensations Randy Houser and Dan+ Shay. “Woke Up One Day” was co-written with hit-maker Robert Ellis Orrall and tells the familiar story of laying it all on the line to chase one’s dreams or the greater risk of not following through and never knowing what might have been.

While Carson is busy on the road promoting her debut album and single, she makes it a priority to give back to the community and those who helped her get her start. A former student at Renee Grant-Williams vocal school, Carson now teaches voice lessons there and for five years has participated in Country Music Hall of Fame’s Words and Music Night, a philanthropic and educational endeavor to help grade school students learn how to write music.

Like a Texas twister, this Texas Country chanteuse is taking the Country music scene by storm, and she continues to demonstrate to everyday dreamers that dreams really do come true, if you but have the courage to chase after them.
