A Texas native, Misty Rae moved to Nashville in 2004 to attend Belmont University and pursue her music career. However, Misty embarked on her musical journey long before she set foot in Tennessee. By the time she was ten, she was writing her own material and performing at various Texas venues, eventually opening for country music legends such as Ray Price, Bill Anderson and Don Williams.

Since moving to Tennessee, Misty has maintained a steady performance schedule and has been writing with some of Nashville’s finest songwriters (Rick Giles, Georgia Middleman, Robert Ellis Orrall). She performs regularly with Musicians On Call and at the Country Music Hall of Fame Words and Music Program.

In 2010, Misty began offering KidsVoiceClinics for children ages 8-12. These fun-filled workshop allow each child to perform their songs and receive instruction from Misty as well as have the opportunity to learn by observing the other attendees as she works with them. Topics include basic vocal technique, what to do in the studio, and much more.

Misty has been a vocal student of Renee Grant-Williams for the past 10 years and has been an associate teacher for 5. Some of her students include Josh Day (BGV for Sara Bareilles), Natalia Dyer (Hannah Montana: The Movie), Matthew Pinkham (rising child star), an Keith Moody (Indie Recording/Touring Artist). Misty offers online voice lessons and also partners with Jason Carson to offer beginner guitar and piano lessons at her voice studio in Franklin, TN.
