DESCRIPTION:
When Miosótis opened the curtain to the 5th edition of the Gouveia Art Rock festival, they had just released their second album "Risco" ("Risk"), after the critically acclaimed debut "O Monstro e a Sereia". But Miosótis are all but a recent band. The project's origins date back to the mid 1970's, when youth friends Álvaro Silveira and Paulo Chagas joined their musical strength to start producing songs influenced, for sure, by the progressive rock environment of those times, but also by a country inmersed in political change and turmoil, where music was also a way of conveying social messages.
Time kept those origins in the shadows for almost three decades. It was only when the two old friends met again in the Portugal Progressivo cultural association activities that led to the start of the Gouveia Art Rock festival, that the project came, again, to light.

Quando abriram a quinta edição do Gouveia Art Rock, os Miosótis tinham acabado de lançar o seu segundo álbum "Risco", depois do sucesso da crítica com o trabalho de estreia "O Monstro e a Sereia". Mas os Miosótis são tudo menos um projecto recente. As origens remontam a meados da década de 70, quando dois amigos de juventude, Paulo Chagas e Álvaro Silveira, se juntaram para produzir canções influenciadas, certamente, pelo ambiente progressivo da época mas também por um país que vivia momentos de convulsão política, no qual a música era também um modo de intervenção social.
O tempo conservou, no entanto, essas origens no escuro durante quase três décadas. Foi só quando os dois amigos se reencontraram na constituição da associação cultural Portugal Progressivo, que dariam início ao Gouveia Art Rock, que o projecto voltou a ver a luz.
