In 2006 Miguel Campbell launched Outcross Records, joined not long after by Matt Hughes and together they have been consistently releasing music on Outcross Records.
The imprint has gone on to release music from Inland Knights, Miguel Punte, Tboy, Iain O'Hare, Sean Roman and Mam, and their latest 8th year Anniversary compilation album showcases that roster while adding a few names as well.
Opening the album is a new duo from Johannesburg going by the name of Popart. The track - 'In Shadows' is an original, nu-disco track with a catchy disco vocal hook. Next is Minota & Stephane Deschezeaux with their track. A deep bouncy house track with complimenting talkbox adlibs. Label vetran Matt Hughes follows this with an italo disco vybe . Mike Gillenwater is up next with a signature french-house sound. Miguel Campbell drops his beat instrumental 'Fly Beatbox' follow by Tboy and 'Unchained', both recently released on vIVA Music. Balcazar and Sordo are next with a low-slung club groove. Inland Knights bring their renown bouncy house vybe. Miguel Puente features with Andrew Brown for a hypnotic club gem. Da Sunlounge follows up with an energetic groove. Funky Fat add their sumptuous house sound. Sean Roman's punchy 4/4 rhythm and synth bass notes result in a pulsating dynamism on 'Leave'. Iain O' Hare offers a disco underground groove with manipulating vocals. LxxxR brings a progressive driving disco flavour whilst Golf Clap change the tempo with their uplifiting 'Memories' and closing the release is Severin Borer with a rich vocodered deep house track.
