Innovative and creative, soulful and passionate, thought provoking and realistic; truly defining the authentic sound of MidCoast Most can simply be summed up in one word, life. Through the creation of unique songs, memorable lyrics, and unforgettable production, MidCoast Most has been a constant demand in Detroit's ever-resilient music scene, cementing a foundation while branching out for future success.
Consisting of emcees J.Walker, Nonsense, and emcee/producer Eddie Logix, MidCoast Most has been steadily progressing since they began in 2004. After experimenting with other groups and projects, MidCoast Most formed out of a shared love of hip-hop music and it's culture. All growing up around the Detroit metro area, each artist brought an individual style to the music that each other could relate to. Facing the same day-to-day struggles became inspiration for MCM to expand and enhance their collective sound. Blending together flawlessly on tracks, each member adds their own unique delivery, ideas, and talents, bringing life to any record, whether it is a party track or a song with socially conscious subject matter.
MidCoast Most independently released their first album entitled, "Worth the Weight" in June 2005. Capitalizing on their growing support, MidCoast Most hit the road, touring with One Be Lo through Texas and Colorado, performing with artists like Vaste Aire and C. Rayz Walz (Def Jux) at the legendary "Elements B-Boy competition". The success of the album was evident with the track "Touch the Sky" receiving radio spins on Detroit's 95.5, and the track "Night Life" gaining spins on local and college radio stations. "Worth the Weight" gained momentum into Canada through CJAM radio and even found an international fan base in New Zealand and Germany. As a whole, the album received good reviews, mainly focusing on their raw talent, depth, and versatility as artists. Capturing rock and hip hop audiences alike; "Worth the Weight" proved that MidCoast Most could create an album that truly had something for everyone.
Although "Worth the Weight" was an underground success, MidCoast Most was looking to redefine and redevelop their sound. Collaborating with Detroit's highly respected producer D.L. Jones, MidCoast Most released their song "Good As It Gets" on Jones' "Wasted Talent" album in 2007. The album featured MidCoast Most along with artists like Amp Fiddler and One Be Lo. "Good As It Gets" seemed a turning point for the crew's progressing sound, finally enabling them to find their niche as artists. The album enjoyed immense local and overseas attention, giving MCM a record that was timeless and classic.
MidCoast Most has been featured on numerous mix tapes and compilation albums. J. Walker and Nonsense have both contributed verses to several other projects while Eddie Logix's production credits stretch from Progress Report to Magestik Legend. Embraced by enormous support throughout the Michigan music scene, MidCoast Most is consistently booking shows and performing live. As to date, MCM has performed with many notable acts, including Little Brother, P.O.S., Killah Priest, and Talib Kweli. MidCoast Most has also performed with nearly every hip hop artist(s) in Michigan including One Be Lo, Finale, Phat Kat, Invincible, Paradime, Hush, and USM, and has been featured artists on the Corktown Music Festival, Dally in the Alley, Windsor CJAM Music Festival, and the 4th Street Faire.
MidCoast Most released their new project entitled "The Coast is Clear" June 2011, with a yet untitled full length L.P. coming soon after. Both of the new albums encompass their redefined creative sound and vision and hope to produce timeless music while representing Detroit Hip Hop on a national stage.
