PA's latest Hip Hop Hitman, is determined to leave an impression on the minds of hip-hop enthusiasts around the world who appreciate authenticity, unique swagger witheven more lyrically cleverness, and an overall prodigious vocal delivery. Mic-Check The Italian Connection, the first artist from Str8-Biz, feels an obligation not only to his Cultural but to the underdogs world wide. " I feel like the odds are against us for a reason, like God wants us to work hard at it so when we get it,we'll appreciate it more and we'll know what to do with it.", says a young hungry Italian Mc. In an industry filled with sharks Mic-Check believes "you gotta be on to catch one".
Mic had an opportunity through Maltar management to sit down with Brother Don Muhammad, Lumidees' A&R, from universal. "I went in there like I was going to sign a deal that day." However after listening to the tracks, he let Check know that there is more to it than rapping. "You gotta have your song on the radio, you gotta be doing shows, you have to be generating money." said the A&R. "I learned a lot that day in 2002, you know they say the best advice is free advice and that was the best advice I have every gotten in this game" After getting the blueprint, struggling to record a demo, and just get by in a survival of the fittest music scene, Mic-Check embarked on a journey that would later led him to an oasis of resources compared to the crabs in a bucket back home. Check moved to Norfolk Va.
From there Mic-Check went on to feature on Da Circuit Tv. A segment called the Artist Spotlight, which later would feature such Mcs as Quan, Big Kev and many other acts. "It was a honor to be the first act on that segment, big up to Rufus and everybody at Da Circuit." Mic-Check also was featured on 103 Jamz. The hottest hip hop and RnB station in Va. "Dj Jack of Spades was spinning my record "This Is Hip Hop", and that was the first time I ever heard one of my joints on the radio, so it was great to turn on the radio and hear my jump off, so big up to JackKeep grinding Jack!!!" A year and half into Va the Piazon felt like he needed a change, so he packed his bags and went out to Texas. "It was really popping off at that time in Texas so I went to check it out." The year of 2008 has been a great for growth. From A worldwide viewd performance, to finsihg perduction of one of the most innovative and ground breaking albums the underground has birthed in awhile, working with the likes of vets like LadyLuck.
