DESCRIPTION:
Here's the highlight of Terraz Jazz #11 that has multi-colored genres from jazz fusion, smooth jazz, Brit-pop, blues and a pleasantful folk. The first performer was Guntur Satria, a young but highly passionate blues guitarist. Unlike the way he spread blues fire with his band GFRtrio, he actually went more into country road when performing solo. He was capable to carry the show all by himself, but he also invited his trio to join him for the last song. The second band 5th Avenue took us into the smooth jazz/light fusion land. The frontman Chris Alfeus did the George Benson-like scat style (scat singing the note that he plays with guitar) throughout the act, while Stella (piano), AlbenOctorys (drums) and William Anthony (bass) did their homeworks perfectly. The last band was an originally acoustic band but for this session turned electric, Poinkustik. They gave colorful choice of songs that got unique rearrangement and Michael Buble's crooning sound.

The jam session was crowded with the whole GFRtrio, Andre Fernando (guitar), Rabi (drums) and Stella (piano) plus vocals by Rizki Jonathan, Erick Gabe and Ines. Joyful session it was, as always.

TERRAZ JAZZ is a regular twice a month community event made by Festival Citylink and Jazzuality.com that holds the theme of Jazz Edutainment. Our goal is to support the regeneration of jazz musicians, finding potential talents and unique band formats by providing space for them to perform live. On the other hand, we also wish the showcase and jam sessions would give a good jazz entertainment to jazz lovers in Bandung. Fun Jazzin', Fun Jammin', Fun Learnin' is the tagline.
