DJ Magical
Die norddeutsche Psytrance- oder Goa-Szene der letzten Jahre ist ohne DJ Magical kaum denkbar. Zweifellos ist er einer der besten und erfahrensten psychedelischen Progressive-DJs Deutschlands, aber er ist viel mehr als das: Aktivist, Organisator, Talentpfleger, helfende Hand . Und in letzter Zeit verbringt er viel Zeit im Studio, wo er mit seinem Live-Partner Marco Menichelli am ersten Album ihres Projektes "Magic SUn" arbeitet.
Seit gut 15 Jahren steht das blonde Energiepaket hinter den Pulten der PsyParty-Landschaft, zwölf Jahre, in denen Magical genau gelernt hat zu spüren, was die Leute hören wollen, was sie brauchen - und vor allem: wann. Nicht zuletzt, weil Magical zu den wenigen Artists seiner Klasse gehört, die Du auch auf dem Floor beim Feiern triffst. Als Produzent hat Magical in den letzten Jahren übrigens auch mit vielen anderen Künstlern im Studio gearbeitet: Shiva Chandra, Symphonix, Ouja (Marco und McCoy von S.U.N. Project), Planet B.E.N, DJ Fabio,Echotek,Paul Schal
Nicht nur in und um Hamburg hat sich Magical ein treues Publikum erspielt, auf allen großen deutschen Psy-Festivals - VooV Experience, Antaris Project, Indian Spirit, Tshitraka . - hat er seine Fans schon mehrmals erfreut. Zunehmend müssen die deutschen Magical-Fans aber immer mal ein bisschen ohne seine Sets auskommen, denn seine Bookings im Ausland nehmen zu.
Magical ist auch Veranstalter, seine jährliche Area 51 gehört seit dem Jahr 2000 zu den größten und beliebtesten Indoorfeiern der Trancemetropole Hamburg. Aus der erfolgreichen Party entstand auch Magicals gleichnamige Compilation-Reihe. Insgesamt vier "Area 51"-CDs gibt es bereits, weitere sind in Planung. Wer also gerne selber ein paar magische Tracks aus der Schatzkiste des 36-Jährigen bei sich zuhause haben will, der sollte die Augen offen halten.
Zuvor schon als A&R Records bei Jum Jam aktiv, kümmert sich Magical etwa zwei Jahren als Progressive A&R bei Planet B.E.N. Records um die Pflege des fluffigen Sounds auf dem ansonsten eher Full On lastigen Label. Nun ist er Spintwist Label-DJ.

For more than 12 years now the blonde energetic German has its place behind the decks of the psychedelic party scene, 12 years that tought him exactly how to catch the vibe from the dance floor and feel what the crowd needs - and when. Magical is one of the rare artists of his qualities whom you might meet right on the dance floor partying, some time when he's not spinning the tunes or working the faders alongside Fabio. Not only in and around Hamburg people love Magical's sets, playing at every bigger German festival even for several times - VooV Experience, Antaris Project, Indian Spirit, Waldfrieden Wonderland, Tshitraka . - he has developed into one of the country's best known Psy DJ's. But recently Magical's German fans have to spend more and more weekends without him, as the number of his bookings in other countries is rising.
Magical is a party organizer as well, with his annual Area 51 that started 2000 being one of the biggest and most popular indoor parties in Hamburg, the Trance city. Magical's own "Area 51" compilation series once originated from those parties, of course. So you'd better stay tuned, if you'd like to take some of the magic tracks from the 34year old's secret collection home with you.
Magical used to work as A&R manager at Jum Jam Records in the past, and has become the Planet B.E.N. Records Progressive A&R for two years, taking care of the more fluffy tunes, integrating this musical style in the label's output, which is mainly concentrating on Full on psychedelic stuff. Now he is a Spintwist Label-DJ.
