Sorry to everyone whose view got blocked by the giant Santa Claus.
My friend Stefan wanted a "special sign". In 2009 at the Munich show it was his inflatable cake that got onstage with "Happy birthday Roy" and the request for "Drive all night".
Bruce grabbed the giant cake, put it onto the piano, read the words but didn't play the song :-(
So at this year's Mönchengladbach show Stefan tried again. This time with a giant inflatable Santa Claus. We hoped for it to be not too disturbing and blocking other people's view and
we asked the people in front of us to pass it forward to the stage. It didn't make it to the front. Suddenly it was gone.
So the last try (I promise!) with the giant cake was in Leipzig. We agreed on passing it forward to the stage BEFORE the first song started. Well, Stefan didn' pass it on but just held it up.
We were all angry with him. He was blocking our view, other people's view, our camera's view...well...Stefan is sorry, we forgive him, I hope you do so, too and I hope Bruce and the band were not annoyed by this giant Santa Claus.
It was a rough shoot because of different reasons but the final multicamera mix should be nice. Hoping and wishing for a good audio source now...
For now enjoy this smoking hot version of Lucky town. The songs from 92 sound so great with the E Street Band. Hoping for more songs to be played from that era...
