Lucibel Crater - Noise | Groove - Blue Stationwagon - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 09, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
This is Noise | Groove

meta-futurist music for a new millenium.

born from the sidelong memory of nycs reverse engineered drum n bass scene [i.e. jojo mayer's nerve] these rooty tendrils extend back to hendrix and forward to a time when live music again becomes the group mind meld it always was.

Buzzbin magazine calls this "Cubistic Beats"

A live excerpt of "Blue Stationwagon," a cut from "The Family Album."

Fronted by brooklyn's dark horse of the cello, NEC dropout and hidden virtuoso Leah Coloff.

featuring Paul Chuffo on drums, providing couterpoint and manipulation of the orange pan.

Also check out the live-sampling/playback accompaniment using a live sampler developed in Kyma. Controlled by continuum fingerboard, more of that to come.

On this track Leah is using her original childhood acoustic cello, with a David Gage realist pickup through a Line 6 PodXt Live and a Tech21 Bass Sansamp. Occasional additional live processing (formant shifting) done in Kyma.

This track was originally titled "Lucibel Crater poses in front of her new/used turquoise stationwagon" but we for some reason shortened it.

Enjoy.
