In this video I'm looking at Randall's RD1C amp. I've heard a few videos of the Diavlo amps and there's something tantalisingly evil about the tone. I decided to pick up the 1 watter because I was only using it for recording and wanted a small amp that could be overdriven at low volumes.

It has 2 AX7 preamp tubes and an AU7 power tube. I did wonder if it would just sound like a pedal rather than a high gain amp. Amazingly it produces a really decent response and has plenty of low end when played through a decent cab. Hopefully the audio in the video is reasonable enough for you to make a decent judgment yourself.

The addition of an FX loop also makes it great for using in conjunction with another pre-amp which I'll probably cover in another video.
