The best bookshelf speakers for each person will depend on a few things. High end audiophile brands like JBL, Klipsch, Polk Audio, Pioneer, and Infinity have various speaker lines and models for this reason (http://amzn.to/28NGzVN - Quick Link to a pair of JBL Loft 40 Bookshelf Speakers (updated model) similar to the set int he video).

Some buy on quality like finding the best sounding speakers for the type of music they listen to. Other consumers will search by budget like finding the best speaker pair under $200, $500 and even $1000. Those that are serious about their home audio will consider a great set of top rated speakers an investment for listening to music or watching movies with the most accurate sound and audio recreation.

Another thing to think about is speaker size. Bookshelf speakers are normally small, but depending on the cabinet design and speaker configuration like number of tweeters and woofers will make a difference. Although if they get too large, they most likely will no longer be considered in the bookshelf category. The type of magnets, quality of cables and type of wood as well as frequency response are other factors to consider. For those that don't have a receiver or amplifier, powered bookshelf speakers may be another choice to look at versus passive speakers like those shown in this video that only need speaker wires to be inserted.

As stated in the video, I've had these speakers for about 20 years and still are in great condition and sound great. To me, because of the brand and quality of construction, these JBL bookshelf speakers are some of the best that I've owned. The clarity and sound reproduction is natural sounding and great for all types of music. Of course, because of the 6.5" woofers, low frequency bass is a problem which is expected. So, to me, these are some of the best bookshelf speakers under 200 dollars.
