DO YOU EVEN YOUTUBE? (‘’STUDIO’’ TOUR 2017) - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 14, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
My humble workflow chain. Apologise for the raw aspect of this video and my edgy temper, hope it still helps some ‘home-studio’ enthusiasts!
I started writing/recording music in 2006 on a $300 computer (the one you can see at the end of the video) and upgraded my stack as time went on, in the consistency of my needs and progress. If you have an idea, don’t wait for the best hardware, the finest instrument or even the best version of this idea to get started. Do your own thing, one step at a time.

"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now." (some kickass old Chinese proverb)

2018 EDIT: I still believe the Focusrite Saffire was a good audio interface but for what I know it's actually being discontinued. Plus with the arrival of USB-C, it quickly became obsolete in terms of connectivity. I would suggest to look at the Focusrite Scarlett (which I'm now using in replacement of the Saffire) if you want something with similar specs, but cooler.

More about mixing in the box:
I tend to keep it simple; I use native plugins from my DAW (EQ, comps, verbs, etc.) and Superior Drummer 2 for my metal drums.
That’s all bruh.

More about macOS’s choke:
Actually I’m not complaining about the fact you have to buy the softwares that you use, that is 110% fair. BUT offering free OS updates allegedly enhancing the overall system but, at the same time, causing systematic degradations to an app’s performances truly makes you feel being trapped with the urge to upgrade that specific app and all the others suffering from that state of fact. Even if, in any event, I was about to move/upgrade my softwares, I like to budget things and not feeling forced to spend $200-$300 all of a sudden if I want to keep working. However it’s a battle I just can’t win haha, so I did buy the latest versions of my apps at once.
But I enjoy complaining. Lemme COOOOOOOOOOOOMPLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN.
