La grande Rhoda Scott torna a JazzAscona dopo diversi anni di assenza accompagnata questa volta da Sophie Alour (sax tenore, vincitrice del DjangodOr 2007 come nuovo talento), Lisa Cat-Berro (sax alto) e Julie Saury (alla batteria), tre fantastiche musiciste con le quali la celebre organista statunitense forma il Lady Quartet , una formazione nata nel 2004 per il festival di Vienne (in Francia), che si esibisce spesso nei club e che ha all'attivo la registrazione nel 2008 di un album live al Sunset di Parigi. Il successo del gruppo deve molto alla bravura delle sue componenti e naturalmente al carisma di Rhoda Scott. Ambasciatrice dell'organo Hammond nel mondo, da anni trapiantata in Francia, Rhoda Scott ha entusiasmato e continua a entusiasmare un vasto pubblico nei cinque continenti. Soprannominata "The Barefoot Lady" (l'organista dai piedi nudi: è così infatti che si presenta sulla scena e che suona la pedaliera), Rhoda fu scoperta negli anni '60 da Count Basie, che non esitò a ingaggiarla nel suo club di Harlem; qui fu notata e quindi portata in Francia dal celebre imprenditore musicale parigino Eddy Barclay. In oltre quarant'anni di carriera, si è esibita al fianco di celebrità come Ray Charles, George Benson, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald per citarne solo alcune, calcando le scene e i festival più importanti e incidendo oltre 20 dischi in America ed Europa (oltre 600'000 quelli venduti nella sola Francia).

The organ ambassador, also known as the "Barefoot Lady" (she often performs with bare feet) has been living in France for years and was first discovered in the 1960s by Count Basie who booked her in his Harlem club where she was noticed by the famous music entrepreneur Eddy Barclay.
