Les Little Searchers existent depuis 1989, et jouent dans leur formation actuelle depuis 2007. Leur répertoire mélange propres compositions sous influence pop british des late sixties (Kink's, Syd Barrett's early Pink Floyd, Zombies.), et rock psyché américain façon Thirteen Floor Elevator, Music Machine, Seeds, Electric Prunes.
"Hailing from the western coast of Nantes, France, Les Little Searchers' mix of '60s guitar rock and psychedelic undertones debuted in 1989. Inspired by the sounds of Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, the Kinks, the Zombies, and the Electric Prunes, Les Little Searchers would spend the next seven years gigging throughout Europe with their trademark sound of uppity pop before the 1996 release of the EP Watch Out for the Crowd. Et voici la biographie officieuse des Little Searchers par un certain Syd Lloyd (!) : "Ce groupe m'a plus ou moins suivi pendant ma petite enfance car il se trouve que John le chanteur principal de ce groupe est mon père. Les Little Searchers sont : Yannick guitare solo et chant, Philippe basse et chant, Michel batterie et chant et John guitare et chant. John a grandi dans une maison de St Nazaire, dans les années 60 et 70, entouré par de drôles de voisins. Ses parents vivaient la plupart du temps avec le poste allumé ce qui lui permis de développer son sens de la musique. En 66 ou 67 il vit Pete Townshend des Who a la télé démolissant une de ses guitares. Ce fut un flash dans sa carrière. Dans les années 80 il réalisa des maquettes étranges voire avant-gardistes avec de la guitare pleine de fuzz, une voix accélérée, et une boite a rythme puis se lança dans des groupes tels que Sonie et les Brailleurs en 85, puis fit du one man show de 86 a 89 avant de former, avec Phil, les Little Searchers. Discographie : Madonna wants religion (1995), Watch out for the crowd (1996), Do spirits return (1998), Big pieces of brain (2002) et le dernier, "Hygiène de Vie" (fin 2008)(j'étais dans le studio lors d'une des séances). Anecdote : Un jour en 1995 un organisateur nantais qui conduisait Liam Gallagher à l'un de ses concerts, mit par hasard dans l'autoradio la démo de Madonna wants religion, et Liam se mit a poser des tas de questions sur cette mystérieuse cassette."

“ Huh, it's really difficult to say what kind of music this band plays. I can say it's weird and it's kinda psychedelic with touch of brit pop and indie. To be honest when I put this CD in my CD player, I thought - oh, no -one more of these boring indie bands. But this is definitely not one of these boring indie bands. I like The Little Searchers. They have this pleasant craziness in their music and songs and sphere remind me of Syd Barrett or some later Beatles stuff.
