Lauren Kennedy performs "A Summer In Ohio" from the world premiere production of Jason Robert Brown's "The Last Five Years" in 2001 at the Northlight Theatre in Skokie, Illinois.

Kennedy performs this number in the original key - a half step higher than how the song would be published. In other words, she belts some fierce E naturals in this performance. Kennedy was unable to participate in the New York run of the show as the production was delayed and Kennedy was committed to start in Trevor Nunn's revival of "South Pacific." It's no wonder why Brown so often performs these songs with Kennedy - this is clearly the voice he wrote them for. Brava!
