Lame Drivers - Frozen Egg, a Video by the Kids of Inventgenuity - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 09, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
This video came out of the imaginations of Cougar, Max, Amelia, Gigi, Warren and Isabel, who are in grades 2-6. Over 4 short after-school sessions, they picked this song out of a few Lame Drivers tunes (licensed under Creative Commons), then wrote the story from scratch, designed, directed and performed in it. It was shot in Jan. and Feb. 2013 at Inventgenuity Workshops at the Beam Center in Brooklyn, NYC. The teacher was Jeff, who plays drums in Lame Drivers.

The song was recorded by Matt Tong (soundcloud.com/matthew-c-h-tong) in his Bed-Stuy basement

The kids valiantly strove to include every idea from their final storyline into this barely 2 minute song, and the result is a kaleidoscopic masterpiece. We too committed to this challenge, doing our best in the editing to reflect the bursting imaginations and generous collaborative spirit of the kids who created it, not to mention the fun, courageous and sometimes wonderfully bizarre creative atmosphere in which it was made.

Lame Drivers collaborated with the kids over the course of production. Jeff, Jason and Joe helped on set with camera, special FX and other production stuff. Jason and Joe joined as performers in the video (since the kids wrote them into the video, they had no choice). Jeff and Joe edited the video.

Kathryn from Beam Center also helped a lot in production, and even ran one of our shooting days.

Lame Drivers give a HUGE thanks to the kids for creating such an amazing video for our song! We are in awe of their strange brains, and the absolutely demented faces they are able to make.
