DESCRIPTION:
Dragonfly is a journey within a song. While much has been speculated about it's true meaning or inferred connotations to allude to a certain strand of a particular controlled substance(s), the song is really about what YOU make it. The tune could be be best described as a mixture of sounds that could encompass our vaired influences ranging from Deep Purple and The Cure mixed in with Nine Inch Nails and Iron Maiden. From our 1997 debut album "Bound", this second track is an uptempo rocker which highlights much of the band's musical prowess. From the intense vocal growls from singer, Mike Baker and hard driven guitar tandem, to the amazing drum and bass found throughout the song, the song quickly became a fan favorite of the live sets. For anyone familiar with Gainesville, Fl in the summer time, then it's likely they would be familar with Gainesville's ever prevalent Dragonflies. The song was orginally a more industrial sounding song(hence the NIN influence) written on keyboards and breakbeats, but was later modified into a more Metallic sounding song based on descending power chord riffs, dual guitar harmonies and double stops and arpegiated triplets culminating the guitar solo. This clip once again encompasses the entire lifespan of the band as it thematically reveals its inspiration drawn from one's pleasures....Enjoy the ride!
