PUBLISHED:  May 12, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Kasey Taylor began DJ'ing at the young age of 13 in a little roller disco in the outback of Australia, and has never really looked back since. He is one of Australia's biggest dance exports, and is now one of the most accomplished and most recognized Dj's on the global stage. Indeed you might expect a few results when your into your 25th year of Dj'ing, but truth be told is that experience and practice will only get you so far and at some stage it takes raw talent to turn the heads of the dance community.

As a DJ, there is very little that Kasey has not done. In the years gone past he has played at almost every big gig in Melbourne and held residencies at every major club worth noting. In particular, Kasey played an integral role in creating the magic that was the 'Mansion'.
A venue that has gone down in clubbing history as one of the best to ever sit on the planet, with just about every international DJ you could name at the time playing guest roles there. He has played alongside the likes of Sasha and Digweed, to Hernan Cattaneo, Carl Cox, Satoshi Tomiie and almost anyone else you can think of. The list is endless. In fact John Digweed was so impressed with Kasey that he twice invited him to play at his Bedrock night in London, which sits in the music industry as one of the greatest clubbing nights and brands still in today's world. He has also supported at all the major festivals in Australia, like the Renaissance and Global Underground festivals, Two Tribes and Summadayze festivals and has become a firm fans favourite at the Rainbow Serpent Festival in his hometown of Melbourne ever year.

For over a decade now, Kasey has had the luxury of releasing his records on his own well respected label 'Vapour Recordings', which he founded in 1997 and is now approaching it's 100 release. In the 13 years since Kasey Taylor founded Vapour Recordings, the label has forged itself an enviable reputation, not only as one of Australia's leading independent dance labels, but the worlds too. 2008 saw Kasey launch his most current label project titled 'eVapour8', and this new adventure is dedicated more towards Tech House and Techno. The 1st release titled 'Shorkel' by Miki Litvak & Ido Ophir was featured in the Beatport main top 10 chart for over 6 weeks, while the 2nd release, Avilo -- Rubicon was featured on Anthony Pappa's tripple mix CD -- Moments, released in April 2008, and then Fiord's -- Get Up Jude appeared in the Techno top 10 for 2 months. eVapour8 is going a fast and strong reputation for releasing quality tunes and is already approaching it's 25th release.

After more than a decade working in the dance music scene there isn't a lot Chris Meehan hasn't done.
Starting out as a resident at some of Melbournes most influential and successful club nights ( Qbar Sundays, Republic @ rOOm 680), supporting all major international guests (Sasha, Digweed, Satoshi, Hernan, Seamen and Nick Warren) and representing brands such as global Underground and Renaissance whenever in town, Chris is well respected by his peers and punters and recognised as a complete Dj.
Abroad, Chris has toured extensively, visiting countries like Portugal, Sweden, Turkey, Germany and Mexico. Passion for music has driven Chris to produce original works and remixes and take a hands on approach to running his own record labels.
A willing student to people like Sean Quinn and Kasey Taylor, it was these early collaborations that set Chris on his path. A co-director of Vapour Recordings and several original works with Kasey Taylor drew the interest of many within the worlds dance music community and rmx work for such labels a s SOG (Holland), Baroque (UK) and EQ (Aus) followed.
After a period away from dance music, Chris returned with 'The Black Sheep' recordings and released several ep's of original works that earnt him strong support from around the globe and put his name back at the top end of charts and playlists the world over.
Original works by Chris have more recently seen release through such labels as Avante Garde (Arg) and Baroque (Uk) and featured on compilations such as Matt Rowan's Baroque Records release and the 'Kiss my Grass' compilation by Kissfm in his hometown Melbourne.
Moving from his Proton radio show to take up a weekly spot with Kissfm, his show 'The Lost Boys' with Friend Gus Cullen has a solid and loyal listener base. Currently producing orignal work and remixes Chris remains a passionate contributer to the dance music scene
